Our partners at the Marine Conservation Society have just released the results from their 2018 Great British Beach Clean. It’s a record year for them, with double the number of volunteers joining in compared to last year’s event! They also recorded an average of 16 drinks containers (plastic, glass and metal) for every stretch of beach surveyed. This is further evidence for the importance of a deposit return system that includes all types of drinks containers, and why we’re so glad that the Scottish Government have ambitious plans.
